Former Sonic Property to Become “Foodies Truck Stop,” Bringing New Dining Experience to Tifton.

A familiar Tifton landmark is getting a fresh start.

The former Sonic Drive-In at 317 S. Virginia Avenue is being transformed into Foodies Truck Stop, a new food truck park designed to bring together a variety of local and regional food vendors in one convenient location.

Rather than operating as a traditional restaurant, Foodies Truck Stop will provide space for up to five rotating food trucks, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy a wide selection of cuisines while supporting independent small businesses.

The owners said, “We wanted to create something different for Tifton.”

“Food trucks have become incredibly popular across Georgia, but many communities don’t have a dedicated place where several vendors can operate together. Our goal is to create a welcoming destination where families, travelers, and local residents can discover great food while helping small business owners grow.”

Located along one of Tifton’s busiest commercial corridors, the property is surrounded by hotels, retail businesses, and nearby apartments, making it an ideal stop for both local residents and travelers passing through South Georgia.

Foodies Truck Stop plans to feature a rotating lineup of vendors, allowing guests to experience something new on every visit. The park is expected to host a variety of cuisines ranging from barbecue and Southern favorites to tacos, burgers, desserts, and specialty food vendors.

In addition to expanding dining options in the community, the project also represents the revitalization of a long-vacant commercial property. The redevelopment gives new life to a well-known location while creating opportunities for food truck operators who may not have the resources or desire to open permanent brick-and-mortar restaurants. The owners also hope the park will become a community gathering place by hosting seasonal events, family-friendly activities, and special food truck nights throughout the year.
